PRELIMINARY SKIING COURSE
The Nehru Institute of Mountaineering, Uttarkashi is planning to conduct seven days (07 days) Preliminary Skiing course at Dayara Bugyal, Uttarkashi of Garhwal Himalaya in the first week of February 2013 (confirm date will be finalized subject to snow condition at the location). This customize course will cover basic techniques of Skiing viz…introduction of skiing equipments, Shoesing, Snow plow, Snow plow turn, Stem turn, stem swing etc…

1. ELIGIBILITY:
Physical and medically fit for the course in the upper reaches of the mountain.
2. AGE: 14 - 40 years
3. PROOF OF STUDENT:
Students who wish to join the course have to submit their Student Identity duly attested by School/Institution Principal/Head of the Institute.
4. ALLOTMENT OF VACANCIES:
Seats are allotted on first come first serve basis.
5. ADMISSION TO FOREIGNERS:
To report to the Principal, one day in advance along with the Passport and valid Visa for direct admission into a course.
6. PHYSICAL FITNESS LEVEL:
Trainees should be in good physical condition prior to undertaking this course. Taking long walk on uneven tracks with load is preferable. Long distance running and regular fingers and arms exercise will prove to be helpful.
7. ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
Applicant shall submit his/her duly filled in application & medical forms along with prescribed training fee well in advance. Application & medical forms are attached herewith.
Training Fee should be remitted through a Bank Draft, payable at State Bank of India/ Punjab National Bank Uttarkashi in favour of NIM, Uttarkashi. PART PAYMENT, CHEQUES. MONEY ORDERS, POSTAL ORDERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
Training fee deposited once will not be transferred or refunded.
Fee includes all expenses on food, accommodation, equipment, transportation, medicines and other training expenses during the course.

On receipt of Form and Training Fee Applicant will be informed by us by Email/Telephone on Provisional basis and will be subsequently informed for final date on short notice.
8. ARRIVAL:
Trainees must arrive an evening before commencement of course. LATE ARRIVALS EVEN BY ONE DAY WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO JOIN THE COURSE.
